The enthusiasm for volunteering at the 2027 Canada Games is exceptional! We already have a large number of registered volunteers, and new registrations are currently being placed on a waiting list.

This waiting list will help us fill roles that may become available if some volunteers do not complete their registration process or decide to withdraw. Every volunteer plays a part in writing a chapter of the Canada Games story.

Ready to Make Your Mark as a Volunteer?

Before you sign up, here’s what you need to know:

Age requirement: You must be 16 years old by February 1, 2027 (opportunities are available for ages 10 to 15)
Availability: Volunteers offering 32 hours or more will be prioritized for role assignments
Training: All volunteers will complete general training about the 2027 Canada Games and specific training for their assigned role. Training will be offered in person or online in fall 2026
Security: A criminal background check will be conducted for adult volunteers, and parental consent will be required for minors
Accessibility and inclusion: let us know what accommodations you may need so you can enjoy a positive and inclusive experience

Become a volunteer - Waiting List

Family volunteering - FULL

During March break, from February 27 to March 14, 2027, family volunteering allows parents and their child (ages 10 to 15) to get involved side by side at the heart of the 2027 Canada Games.

A unique opportunity to share a meaningful parent-child experience, contribute to a major national event, and create unforgettable memories together.

What to expect:

Minimum of 16 volunteer hours during the Games
One parent paired with one child
Tasks completed together or nearby at the same site
Accessible roles include food services, sport operations, merchandise, and many more! Look for the 👥 icon in the Available volunteer sectors.

Youth volunteering - FULL

The youth volunteering program is designed for young people aged 14 to 15 who wish to experience the Games from the inside and actively contribute to their success.

Accessible through a school, an academic program, a sports club, or a community organization, it allows youth to get involved collectively, discover behind-the-scenes aspects of the event, and participate in a structured and safe environment.

Corporate Volunteer Program - FULL

Engage your team in a large-scale national event and enjoy a motivating, team-building experience!

Key requirements:

Form a team of approximately 15 employee volunteers
Appoint one person as the main point of contact with the organization
Commit to two days of participation per employee (approximately 16 hours total)
Ensure attendance at mandatory training sessions (general and role-specific)

Located at 51 Pointe-aux-Lièvres Street, the Volunteer Centre welcomes you to answer all your questions and support you at every step of the registration process.

On site, our team is there to help you create your account, choose your role, and complete your registration with ease.

FAQ

What volunteer roles are available?

By consulting section the "Available volunteer sectors" of the “Become a Volunteer” page, you will find the document “Description of Volunteer Roles”. You will be able to see the quantity and variety of possible roles available.

What is the minimum age required to volunteer at the Canada Games?

Volunteers must be 16 years of age or older at the time of the Games. For the 2027 edition, programs will be offered for youth aged 10 to 15 years old. Consult the family and youth volunteering sections.

How many hours of volunteer work are required during the Games?

No minimum number of hours is required to be a volunteer. However, priority will be given to those offering 32 hours or more. The remaining time slots will then be offered to all volunteers.

Do I absolutely have to be bilingual to volunteer?

No, being bilingual is not mandatory. Several volunteer positions during the Games will be available for unilingual volunteers (French or English).

If I live outside the Québec City region, can I still volunteer?

Absolutely. We warmly welcome volunteers from across Canada, who are passionate about sports and eager to create a legendary experience for athletes and visitors alike. However, to be a volunteer, you must be physically present in the Québec City area at the time of the Games.

It is important to know that transport and accommodations will not be covered by the Host Society.

If I want to volunteer in a group, is that possible?

Stay tuned, a program for corporate groups will be offered soon!

I filled out the form on the registration platform, but I want to get involved right away. Is that possible?

Absolutely! When filling out your form, in the “Availability” section, select “Before the Games.” You will then be among those considered for the few tasks that need to be completed before the Games begin.

I have completed the form on the 2027 Canada Games registration platform. What are the next steps?

Your application will be reviewed over the next few weeks. You will then receive an email informing you of the next steps in the process, which may include:

A document with additional information (mandatory for all);
A criminal record check (mandatory for everyone);
An English test (depending if you selected you’re bilingual);
An interview (depending on the role);
A request for certifications (depending on the role).

We also invite you to regularly check your junk emails so that you do not miss any communication from us.

Processing your application may take several weeks. Each application is carefully reviewed.

I filled out my form on the registration platform, but when I checked it again, the data I entered is no longer there.

It is important to click the “Submit” button after filling in each section of the registration form.

I am having difficulty filling out the registration form. I would like some help.

First, consult the “Registration Tutorial" to guide you, step by step, through every stage. If you feel you need additional support, come and meet us at the Volunteer Center during opening hours.

What is the volunteer waiting list?

We have reached our volunteer recruitment goal for the 2027 Canada Games. As a result, any new applicants are now being added to a waiting list.

This waiting list allows us to keep your application on file if volunteer positions become available, particularly when someone does not complete the registration process or decides to withdraw. Should a spot open up, we will contact eligible applicants directly to offer them an opportunity to get involved.

Are the Youth, Corporate and Family Programs still available?

The2027 Canada Games Youth, Corporate and Family Programs are now full. We havereached the maximum number of participants and groups that we are able toaccommodate through these programs.

As aresult, registration for these programs is no longer available at this time. Wewould like to thank all the individuals, families and organizations who havechosen to be part of the 2027 Canada Games journey!
