FAQ

I want to sign up as a volunteer, not as an employee. Is it normal that I end up on a recruitement site?

Yes, that’s completely normal. We use this secure platform to properly store your information and ensure the confidentiality of your personal data.

You should also know that this platform is not the official one. It’s more of a pre-registration, from which we’ll contact you when the official registration period begins.

By the way, did you subscribe to our newsletter?

I don't know which volunteer position to choose or which form to fill out.

If you’re ready to commit right now, have planning skills, and a strong interest in helping organize a large-scale sporting event, fill out the Planning Volunteer Form.

However, if you’re interested in getting involved only during the Games, from February 27 to March 14 2027, fill out the Games-Time Volunteer Form.

If, along the way, you realize that the position you chose isn’t the right fit, just let us know. We’ll be happy to explore other possibilities with you and adjust your role to match your expectations. This way, you won’t have to fill out the form all over again. Handy, isn’t it?

I filled out the form but haven't heard back yet. What should I do?

It’s completely normal if you haven’t received any news yet. The form you filled out is actually a pre-registration. We’ll let you know as soon as the official platform is launched by the winter of 2026.

I filled out the form, but I'd like to get involved right away! Is that possible?

Send us an email at benevole@jeuxducanada2027.ca to let us know you’re interested. However, please make sure not to fill out the pre-registration form twice, to avoid duplicates in our system.

If I live outside the Quebec City region, can I still volunteer?

Absolutely. We warmly welcome volunteers from all corners of Quebec who have a passion for sport and want to help create a legendary experience for athletes and visitors alike.

To be a volunteer, you must be physically present in the Quebec City region during the Games. For planning volunteers, however, we do give priority to applicants from the Quebec City area due to the sustained in-person involvement required.

Do I have to be bilingual to volunteer?

No, being bilingual is not required. Many volunteer roles during the Games will be available for unilingual volunteers.

When will I receive my volunteer training?

There will be several specific training sessions available in the fall of 2026 to help you better understand your role and responsibilities. These sessions will cover a general orientation to the Canada Games, role-specific training, and site-specific orientation.

Once your official registration is complete, you’ll receive further details as soon as we’re able to share them.

If I want to volunteer as part of a group, is that possible?

Yes, volunteer groups are welcome. The first step is to email us at benevole@jeuxducanada2027.ca.

We’ll then collect your information and validate it according to the criterias you’ve indicated. Please note that all members of the group must register individually and go through the selection process, just like individual volunteers.

How many volunteer hours are required during the Games?

The minimum commitment is 32 hours of volunteering for the entirety of the Games, from February 27 to March 14, 2027.

What kind of roles are available during the Games?

You’ll see, there’s something for everyone, and certainly several roles that will match your interests! For example, we will definitely need volunteers for access control, food services, participant transportation, welcoming guests, as well as during the Opening and Closing Ceremonies.

A full document outlining the different volunteer roles will be available online by the fall of 2025.

What is the minimum age requirement to volunteer at the Canada Games?

Volunteers must be 16 years of age or older at the time of the Games — but there’s no maximum age! What really matters is your enthusiasm to be part of something bigger than yourself, to work as a team, to share your skills, and to help create a legendary experience for all athletes, visitors, and sports fans taking part in the Games. If you are accompanied at all times by a parent volunteer, the minimum age requirement may be lowered to 10 years old.

If I have a disability, can I still volunteer?

Absolutely. We’d be delighted to welcome you to this great adventure. Please make sure to indicate the nature of your disability in the pre-registration and registration forms.

Once that’s done, a member of our team will contact you to offer a role suited to your situation. If you will be accompanied, your companion must also complete an official registration.
